Former PMDC Strongman to Lead UDM Party

The erstwhile Chairman of the Peoples Movement Democratic Change Party (PMDC), has made public his intention of transforming the United Democratic Movement to a political party.

Mohamed Bangura, former PMDC strongman may apparently be the leader and virtual flagbearer of the UDM party in the 2012 Parliamentary and Presidential election.

In an interview with one of Sierra Leone Broadcast Cooperation’s anchors, Asmieu Bah, during the usual ‘Lunch Time Break’ programme he said the UDM party caters for the youths of our society.

According to Mr. Bangura, the UDM party is sure to have a leader that is below 45.

He however called on the young people of Sierra Leone to think UDM, sleep UDM, eat UDM and consider UDM as the party that will bring hope to Sierra Leone.

He further told viewers of SLBC ‘Lunch Time Break’ programme that the movement is on the verge of transforming into a political party and after going through all the registration exercises; the party will be officially launched.

He recounted on UDM’s view of having young and youth dominant.

“If youths support me, it is sure I and the UDM will win the 2012 elections,” Mohamed Bangura said.

“With young people Sierra Leone will experience a total change.  That is why we had resolved at using ‘Yes we can’ as our party slogan.
