Reports from Sierra Leone Football Association has stated to Sierraexpressmedia.com that the national U-23 head coach Jebbor Sherrington has invited eight foreign-based players in Freetown, some of whom are on vacation, to boost up his squad for their 2012 Olympics Games in London qualifying match against Liberia.

Another source coming to Sierraexpressmedia.com confirms one of the players from Cyprus Abdul Rahman Kamara, playing his trade with Cyprus side ENOSIS PARALIMNI F.C, will join the rest of his squad this Tuesday leaving Cyprus on Monday 14 December 2010, flying from Cyprus via Air Egypt to Egypt and onto Freetown National airport.

According to the player he will return to Cyprus to continue with club assignment just after the Christmas holiday and will join Enosis training back on the 28 of December.

Sherrington will use these players to strengthen his squad for his preparation for the all important tie with Liberia. The encounter is the second leg preliminary qualifier taking place in Monrovia on December 19, 2010.  The first leg in Freetown ended 1-1 on October 8, 2010.

The players are Trelleborg defender ‘Marcel’ Koroma, AIK’s new signing Ibrahim ‘Tetteh’ Bangura and Mohamed ‘Pobosky.’  Also, Bangura from AIK in Sweden. Alusine ‘Baggio’ Kamara, and Musa Sesay who are from lower division clubs.

The Italy-based duo of Rodney Strasser of AC Milan and Sulaiman Fullah Sesay of Parma, were also in the named in the squad, however, Abdul Din Sesay popularly known as Gbanaloko from Sweden is not among the invitees.
This is a big boost for Sherrington with five of these foreign-based players (Ibrahim ‘Marcel’ Koroma, Ibrahim ‘Tetteh’ Bangura, Sulaiman Fullah Sesay, Mohamed ‘Pobosky’ Bangura and Rodney Strasser) having national team experience.
