ACC Investigates FCC’s Le 151 M scam

The Freetown City Council hurriedly conveyed a press briefing at his headquarter offices on Lightfoot Boston Street to explain how the Le 151 million was spent by its Chief Administrative Officer, Bowenson Phillips.

At the press conference it was confirmed that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has questioned the conduct of a workshop held by the City Council at the Hill Side Hotel Signal Hill.

Mayor Herbert Williams admitted to journalists that money spent for the said workshop was exorbitant.

He further disclosed how the conduct of the workshop was untimely and not in place.

He however revealed that the purposed of the workshop was to discuss ways bordering on the conduct of schools devolved to City Council.

That such a workshop was meant to map out plans for primary, secondary and tertiary health care, primary and junior secondary schools now under City Council’s purview.

Ironically, Bowenson Phillips, who after misusing Le 151 million was sent on forceful terminal leave, is current in the United Kingdom representing City Council at a three week symposium on issues of waste management.

It could be recalled that Bowenson Phillips was singularly appointed as City Council’s Chief Administrative Officer by Mayor Herbert.

Findings say the appointment of persons to such officer must have been the responsibility of the central government and not City Council.

Credible data has shown how Mayor Herbert and Bowenson play games in dark.

Facts as on tables of the Sierra Express explains how letter sent to City Council by Hall City Council in the UK state names of persons to attend the conference on waste management.

Sources say that Bowenson Phillips’ name was not part of the two invited to represent Freetown City Council.

The ACC in currently investigating allegation of misappropriation of Le 151 million and has invited Bowenson and Mayor Herbert for statement.
