Walther Martin Bessler has been representing Sierra Leone as Consul since the days of ex-President Dr. Siaka Probyn Stevens and his performance has been one of tremendous commendations.
In Frankfurt and other cities in Germany, Bessler has been of great support to Sierra Leoneans, especially those with genuine projects for Sierra Leone.
He is perhaps the oldest running Consul the country has ever had making him being referred to as the true friend of Sierra Leone.
Over the years, Bessler had established quite a good number of businesses in Sierra Leone until the rebel war broke out.
Early last month, Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom His Excellency Edward Mohamed Turay paid tribute to him for the good job he has been doing on behalf of Sierra Leone.
Turay was in Frankfurt to honour a cultural festival organized by the All People’s Congress Germany Branch and seized the opportunity to thank and encourage him to continue his good work.
“I’ve been hearing so much good news about the good works you have been doing for Sierra Leoneans both in Germany and back home and I would like to thank and commend you on behalf of the government and people of Sierra Leone,” he said.
Bessler thanked the High Commissioner saying he has Sierra Leone at heart and will always be there for the country.
