Khadija Sesay: OGI is non-political and non-partisan

The Director of the Open Government Initiative, Ms. Khadija Sesay has called on all Sierra Leoneans in the New York/New Jersey Metropolis and other parts of the continental United States to attend Saturday’s Open Government Initiative (OGI) Town Hall Meeting  and Banquet to be held at the Riverside Church Conference Centre on Saturday September 25. The Town Meeting is from 12 noon to 4 pm while the Banquet is from 7pm to midnight.

Khadija Sesay further stated that the OGI is non-political and non-partisan and is an all-Sierra Leonean event.  No political party will be making a partisan political statement. Though the SLPP, APC and the PMDC have been invited, they will be at the town meeting more in their capacity as Sierra Leoneans. They will be there to ask President Ernest Bai Koroma questions about governance and other national issues.

The Banquet is a paid event and it is $200 per head .However, those who take out a table of 10 people will receive a discount and will pay only $1,800.

The OGI was set up to promote transparency, accountability and the concept of consultative citizenry (With Government).
