IB. Kargbo and police dispose on Wealth Builders

The Minister of Information and Communication Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, and the newly promoted Inspector General of Sierra Leone Police Francis A. Munu, met with customers and stakeholders from the North to discuss the issue of the Wealth Builders and customers monies.

The meeting which took place at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters in Freetown past Saturday was well attended by alleged customers of the illegal group from Kabala, Kono Magburaka, and Makeni.

During the well attended meeting with the Minister, the police IG, CEO of the ILLEGAL organization and customers from the North, the Minister IB. Kargbo asked the CEO of Wealth Builders Network Peter Ayinla Johnson more than twice about customer’s monies and each time he was asked, the CEO answered that he does not have money and that he wants government to give him more time to transform his organization into a MICRO FINANCE institution so that he can pay his customers back their money, but as at now he has no money and that, since his accounts were frozen and sent to Pademba State PRISON, he has not been receiving money from his customers all this while rather his district managers were operating.

The minister further asked Peter Ayinla Johnson about the source of his money which he is using to double customers money. The Nigerian ILLEGAL business man frankly told the minister and all present that he will not disclose his source of money not even to his parents.

During the meeting the minister advised that a committee be set to help the Bank governor to check all that was in the account of the organization and see if it will be enough to pay the customers their initial capital but rumors are that, even all the money that was frozen by the Central bank if put together cannot pay all the customers in Makeni never mind the rest of the country.

A very reliable source from Makeni indicates that, the Rogbaneh Police station has registered over FIVE BILLION LEONES (5,000,000,000) with a total of over two thousand people. Our source further indicated that most people who are alleged to have made a very huge investment into the Wealth Builders Network in Makeni are afraid to register their papers to the police for them not to be handed over to the ACC as most are believed to be government workers who abandoned all the banks and operated with this ILLEGAL institution.

It was against this back drop that, the SLP through a press release which was signed by the new IG Francis A. Munu, have informed the public that it has also come to their notice that the latter is ILLEGAL and that they are working closely with stakeholders and district managers of the organization to help solve the problem peacefully.

The police released further that, in the meantime, they are advising all customers to remain calm and peaceful as the police investigate the matter and the customers will hear from the police soon.

The one million dollar question now is HOW SOON will this investigation last, taking into consideration the fact that, the CEO said he doesn’t have any money with him and that even if all the monies which were frozen were put together, this is not enough to pay customers in Makeni? Pretty soon people in Makeni and other affected places will be heading for their villages while others will be sent to prison for failing to back micro credit money as this has negatively reflected in Makeni as most mosques are empty during the Ramadan month.

Mr. Government your people are waiting on YOU to come to their aide or else the big towns and cities will be empty whiles our villages will be over populated.
