The popular Peckham Academy will be the venue to host Sierra Leoneans in a session described as ‘reception and information evening’ tomorrow evening.

The programme tagged Money Talk: More For Your Money is being organized by the African Foundation for Development (AFFORD) in partnership with IFAD – a United Nations agency.

The session will introduce the RemiPlus Project – a project which focuses and creates strong and tangible links between remittances, enterprise development, investment and personal savings.

The project is expected to be beneficial to Sierra Leoneans living in the United Kingdom and back home in Sierra Leone and will provide them with sufficient knowledge on business ventures back home while encouraging others intending to set up such ventures.

AFFORD’s Operations Manager Thelma Williams said about 400 existing businesses in Sierra Leone stand to benefit from the project which also provides business support and better financial guidance to them.

In tomorrow’s meeting, AFFORD will also seize the opportunity to encourage Sierra Leoneans to invest in 50 new businesses in the country.

Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Edward Mohamed Turay will be one of the dignitaries to grace the occasion.

The Chairman of AFFORD Gibril Faal will also deliver a speech on RemitPlus Project whilst Kobi Walker of the Union Trust Bank in Freetown will speak on Banking Support To Businesses.

Leah Mansaray will talk on Fadugu’s Partnership With RemitPlus and Jacqueline Williams is to speak on behalf of AAA Consultancy.

“This is an opportunity one cannot afford to miss,” said a prominent Sierra Leonean.
