Leone Lodge project to make Sierra Leone a better place, said President Koroma

President Ernest Bai Koroma over the weekend graced the ground breaking ceremony of the Leone Lodge building project in Bo and Kenema. Speaking at the ceremony, President Koroma stressed their need for the private sector to emulate from the Leone Lodge Plc their nation building drive to transform Sierra Leone into a better place.

He stated that the reason why his government is fully in support of the project was because the project is a Sierra Leonean owned business that will serve as catalyst to achieve his government infrastructural agenda. President Koroma added that he was impressed about the project because most of the building materials the Leone Lodge is using are Sierra Leone produced. He maintained that the Leone Lodge will enhance travel access to all Sierra Leoneans whom might want to tour the country as the project is going to provide low cost but modern housing facilities for everybody, both foreigners and indigenes in all four corners of country.

The president continued to express that when he attained power in April 2007 he called on the private sector to work closely with his government, especially in the area of rebuilding and rebranding the country for the common good for all, Amongst many, Leone Lodge, a Sierra Leonean born company, has taken the lead to make Sierra Leone out of Sierra Leone, for that reason every Sierra Leoneon both at home and abroad should be proud of the Leone Lodge team  for the bold initiative they have  undertaken

He however disclosed that the Leone Lodge will not only provide first class accommodation for touristd and ingenious of the country, it will also provide decent job employment for all class of people in the country and by so doing the economy of the country will increased.. The president implores on all to embrace the building project and let no one in any way try to undermine Leone Lodge Plc. He disclosed that Wilfred Sam King and partners has promised that by April next year six of the Leone Lodge buildings will be completed. President Koroma thanks all the land owners for the scarifices they have made in giving out their land for the construction of the Lodge, adding that Sierra Leone can only be developed when the people are ready to scarifice what they have for the development of the country

In another development, the  president disclosed that his government has raised Le46 billion for the construction of roads and street lights within the township of Kenema and the same will be replicated in other regions. President Koroma however added that he will also give money to the Kenema Mayor for the completion of the Kenema town council hall which has been uncompleted for the past 20 years.

The paramount chief of  Kakwa Chiefdom Bo, Lapia Bioma, who gave the welcome address expressed thanks and appreciation to the Leone Lodge Plc in bringing such kinds of development adding that this is the kind of development his people were hoping to see in the districts. The chief however showered praised on President Koroma for the political maturity he has displayed during his presidency.

Mohamed Tawarally Resident Minister South, acknowledges the president’s good work since he attained power as president. He stated that President Koroma is working diligently without any tribal line and he has brought a lot of development in the country especially in the area of  roads, agriculture, electricity and infrastructure. Mr. Tawarally noted that the Leone Lodge will increase people movement to see the beauty of the country. The Chairman of Leone Lodge Plc Mr. Abubakarr Multi Kamara expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Koroma for the inspiration he instilled into them for Leone Lodge to undertake such a venture. He said Leone Lodge was part of the President’s call for Sierra Leoneans to invest in the country. Mr. Kamara noted that Leone Lodge will cater for all classes of people as provision will be created to promote artesian trade, and the reduction of the high rate unemployment in the country. The Chairman however maintained that Leone Lodge was not a government supported project but a projects that is undertaken by five patriotic Sierra Leoneans who embraced the clarion call of President Koroma to make Sierra Leone become an enviable country in the Sub- region and the world at large.
