Mohamed Kabba to clinch the VP Position

The long awaited election for the Sierra Leone Reporters Union will take place on Saturday 10th July at the Freetown headquarters of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ).

According to random interviews conducted by this reporter countrywide, members are looking forward to a national executive that will advocate for a change, better conditions of service and a drive towards capacity building and specialization so that Sierra Leonean Journalists will be at par with other journalists across the sub region.

Members have observed that under past executives, little or nothing was done to improve the working condition of journalists. Among those the reporters believe will bring a change and push the union forward is Mohamed Kabba, Regional Reporter for the Awareness Times Newspaper.

Three days in the provinces to ascertain the political momentum for the Saturday election sent a clear signal that the four regions are resolute on electing Mohamed Kabba to the position of the Vice President for the Sierra Leone Reporters Union.

As it stands, three candidates have lined up for the position of Vice President with Mohamed Kabba the most suitable candidate among them all. After a careful assessment of the candidates for the vice presidency, Sierra Express Media ticks Mohamed Kabba as their choice and wish him good luck.
